This series on “Opioid-free Anesthesia and Opioid-sparing Anesthesia in OMF Surgery” is edited by Dr. Jingping Wang and Dr. Christopher Fanelli. The main purposes of this series will be (1) to review the current knowledge regarding opioid-free and/or opioid sparing anesthesia and alternative analgesic techniques for the current clinical practice, (2) to describe the major benefits of opioid free and/or sparing anesthesia to the patients and (3) to discuss the multimodal approach to perioperative pain management in OMF surgery.
