JOMA 2025 Annual Report

We are pleased to share with you the 2025 annual report of Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Anesthesia (JOMA). In 2025, with the joint effort and support of all contributors, JOMA made great progress with the publication of 28 articles, and increased website pageviews and visitors. For more details, please see the following report.

Current status and latest research progress in the pain management of temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) (ongoing)

This series on "Current status and latest research progress in the pain management of temporomandibular disorders (TMDs)" is edited by Dr. Mythili Kalladka from Eastman Institute for Oral Health, USA and Dr. Ming Xia from Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, China. TMDs have become increasingly prevalent and often imposed significant challenges in diagnosis and management. The purpose of the series is to update clinicians on current status and latest research in pain management of TMD’S.

AME and Wolters Kluwer aim to expand access to global medical research through new collaboration

The agreement broadens the reach of nearly 50 Open Access titles, contributing globally to over 5,000 articles

October 2, 2025 — Wolters Kluwer Health announced a new collaboration with AME Publishing Company, an Open Access publisher specializing in medical journals and books, headquartered in Hong Kong, China.

JOMA is officially indexed by Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)

On April 30, 2025, the editorial office of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Anesthesia (JOMA) officially received confirmation that the journal has met all selection criteria for inclusion in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). Articles published in JOMA from 2022 onward, beginning with Volume 1, will be included in this prestigious database.

Interviews with Outstanding Authors (2025)

In 2025, many authors make outstanding contributions to our journal. Their articles published with us have received very well feedback in the field and stimulate a lot of discussions and new insights among the peers.

Hereby, we would like to highlight some of our outstanding authors who have been making immense efforts in their research fields, with a brief interview of their unique perspectives and insightful views as authors.
